There are some songs I consider my all-time favourites. The songs on my list stand the test of time and most of them are songs that I (at one point or another) played on repeat and never got sick of it.

The Cure - Just Like Heaven

Thanks to my older brother and sisters, I grew up listening to The Cure. I was that kid who, at four-years-old, told their friends that Just Like Heaven was their favourite song. Thirty years later, nothing has changed.

Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger

As I've mentioned before, I'm a huge Oasis fan. Don't Look Back in Anger has been one of my favourite songs since I first listened to the band's second album, (What's the Story?) Morning Glory? in the sixth grade.

Coldplay - The Scientist

I have to admit, I miss depressing, angsty Coldplay. The Scientist is quintessential Coldplay (before they decided to go all mainstream and do songs with Rihanna and Beyoncé). The song is depressing as hell but that's what makes it so good.

U2 - One

U2 is another band I grew up listening to. There are a lot of great songs to choose from, but my favourite has always been One.

Madonna - Material Girl

Like a lot of people, my sisters had Madonna albums on vinyl in the 80s and we listened to them a lot. My favourite Madonna song has always been Material Girl.

The Smiths - Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want

The Smiths is another band I should be too young to know about, but I grew up listening to them. I've always loved Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want, partially because it reminds me of one of my favourite movies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

I'm not going to deny that Creep is a great Radiohead song, but I've always loved Fake Plastic Trees (possibly because it isn't as overplayed).

The Beatles - Here Comes the Sun

There are so many great Beatles songs, but I've loved Here Comes the Sun since I was little and it's a total nod to my Dad, who is one of the biggest Beatles fans I know.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge

It was hard to pick a favourite song from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but Under the Bridge is the first song I heard from the band and I've loved them ever since.

Bob Marley - Redemption Song

Bob Marley songs are typically fun and upbeat. One of the exceptions is Redemption Song, which is possibly one of his best songs.
