I usually look at the annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade as the official kickoff to Christmas. The problem is, it's only mid-November and I already have Christmas fatigue.
Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas but I like to ease into the holiday season. Instead, in the last few years, I've gotten bombarded with all things Christmas the day after Halloween. Between the endless made for TV Christmas movies, holiday cooking shows out the ass and not to mention Starbucks and its red cups and holiday drinks, I'm already Christmas-ed out and I haven't even started shopping yet.
I'm sure that by the time December rolls around I'll get more into the Christmas spirit. I love going to the various holiday markets in Toronto and making sweet treats during this time of the year, but I'm not quite ready to start doing those things yet. In the meantime, please allow me to blissfully hide in my non-Christmas cocoon for a little while longer.
